Citylight Lincoln was birthed in prayer more than 3 years ago when Mozart Dixon sensed a call from God to launch a new work in Lincoln.  He was serving as a young adults and college pastor for a large church in Lincoln where he saw a gap in Lincoln churches reaching the young adult and college student population at large. Citylight Omaha pastors sensed a similar call from God to plant a church in Lincoln and met with Mozart for coffee and prayed for God's vision and provision for a possible Lincoln plant.  Within a couple months, a small group of people gathered in March of 2016 with the intent of being a family on mission.  After a brief period It was clear to all parties involved that God’s timing was now and not later.  Mozart and the elders of Citylight Omaha invited Austin Edwards to join as the co-planter. Austin felt a clear call to be sent and help make this dream a reality.

Jesus is doing a new work in Lincoln. He is gathering a people who want to be a part of seeing lives changed, neighborhoods transformed and the college campuses engaged in new ways. We are not just imagining a new church that you can attend, but imaging living as the church, for the glory of God and the good of others! God is “able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think”.  Jesus can unite students and mature saints. Jesus can set the captive free. Jesus can rescue the refugee. Jesus can transform our city. Jesus is building His Church!
