Prep to Pulpit
Proclaiming God’s Word is a serious task and one that requires much. If you are preparing to teach God’s Word, here are a few things to consider and practice from a seasoned Pastor.
Three Covenants to Practice with Your Co-Lead
Pastoring a church with a co-lead can be a great blessing for the pastors, staff, and church. Sharing the responsibilities and bringing more strengths and gifts to the table is healthy. How do we protect this?
Student Ministry as a Family
Last April, Student Ministries from churches across the Citylight Family came together for the first Student Retreat held at Camp Rivercrest outside of Omaha. Students, leaders and volunteers from seven churches (Fort Collins, Bennington, South Lincoln, Council Bluffs, West Council Bluffs, Omaha Midtown, Omaha West) gathered for worship, large group sessions, small group discipleship with fun activities and games. As a Family we celebrate God and His faithfulness and new mercy as He continues to draw His people to Him and to His Body.
Multiplying Church Buildings
As God multiplies His church and in our Family, one thing that we need to be mindful of is to have facilities that help facilitate long-term ministry. When a church has an opportunity to acquire a property, it creates a long-term home base to do Gospel ministry.
Moving Toward the Wounded – Providence Church
When Providence Church was planted in 2017, God was calling them to a location and to a group of women that was unexpected and a Kingdom blessing to all.
Salt Church Greeley
The Citylight Family mission is to multiply disciples and churches. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with and support the next plant in Greeley, Colorado with Salt Church Greeley!
Prayer and Planting
When Citylight was in it’s early days, we asked the Lord to do far more than we could ever imagine. We also prayed to the Lord to build His Church.
Planting a Church as a Spouse
Over ten years ago, God stirred my husband’s heart a desire to plant a church. I was much slower in getting this desire to plant, but as usual, God was patient and continually nudged my heart to prepare me for this next adventure. He’s also provided wonderful co-leaders!
Planting in Colorado
One year ago, Citylight Ft. Collins launched with lead Pastors Phil Robinson and Andrew Scheribel and a core team made up of around 100 people. We celebrate all that God has done in and through His Church.
Going to the Nations
Jesus is at work not just here in our city, or our country, but globally. We as a Citylight family have multiplied locally and have the opportunity to multiply for the NATIONS. Each Citylight Church is seeking and equipping themselves for these opportunities and we share just a few stories how we see this happening but also invite you to join in this movement to take the Good News to ALL THE NATIONS.
